Awkward synergy
An advertising firm has been blasted after a billboard for The Walking Dead was put on the wall of a funeral parlour in Consett, County Durham.
An apology has been issued after the ad for The Walking Dead appeared on the side of The Co-operative Funeralcare.
Susan Jones, from the Willow Burn Hospice, in nearby Lanchester, said that while some people may see the funny side, others would not.

Goodnight Shai-Hulud bursting out of the dune
Goodnight Dune was written and illustrated after I saw this article for Five Sci-Fi Children’s Books on College Humor, linked from a Reddit post which asked for a more fleshed out version of the book. While the original parody art was amazing I decided to stick closer to the original Goodnight Moon structure, using some stylistic elements from the David Lynch movie version of Dune.

Real Life Up
On the morning of March 5th, National Geographic Channel and a team of scientists, engineers and balloon pilots launched the 16 x 16 foot house with 300 8 foot balloons. The house floated around for about an hour and reached an altitude of over 10,000 feet. Look for more coverage of this in the fall of 2011 in a series called How Hard Can it Be.
